Apple Picking in Michigan

Apple Picking at Westview Orchard

Another family tradition of ours is apple picking in the fall. We have been doing this since well before either of our daughters were born. In fact, the years they were each born, their first experiences were when they were only a few weeks old!

We just spent an afternoon at Westview Orchard for some family fun. This was our first year visiting this orchard and boy were we impressed! From the activities for the kids to the wagon ride taking us to the apple orchard for picking, the staff was friendly and the grounds very well kept. Their Cider was the best we have had and the cinnamon and sugar donuts, warm and fresh. To top it all off the apples are pesticide free!

We typically try and avoid orchards with all the extra’s because it takes away from the actual purpose of the adventure, apple picking, and it gets pretty expensive. This year, however, we decided to venture out of our norm and partake in some of the extra activities.

The girls chose the petting zoo which also included a fenced in area with goats, sheep, and chickens roaming free and very social with all the guest. We all had a blast as you can see!

Cider and donuts were next! Yum!

After we fueled up we hopped on the wagon for a ride out to the orchard for apple picking. The apples were absolutely huge and oh so delicious! We could have easily filled our bag from one tree!

It was another great day making family memories! Now it’s time for some baking! Apple…pie, crisp, chips, sauce, butter and the list goes on!
